When we first began The Lakeview Retreat, there was one thing that became immediately clear: the lake needed to remain the focal point. The architecture provided incredible views from nearly every major living space, and rather than compete with those surroundings, our goal was to design interiors that felt like a natural extension of them.

A Balance of Beauty and Function
Throughout the home, we focused on creating spaces that feel calm, layered, and inviting. Warm wood tones, natural textures, soft textiles, and carefully selected furnishings work together to create a home that feels refined without ever feeling formal. One of the most important aspects of this project was balance. Large-scale architecture can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially in new construction. By layering texture, incorporating comfortable furnishings, and paying close attention to proportion, we were able to create rooms that feel intimate while still celebrating the home's scale and openness.
The furnishings were selected with both beauty and function in mind. Every piece needed to support the way the homeowners would actually live in the space—from gathering with family and friends to enjoying quiet mornings overlooking the water.

The bathrooms and bedrooms were approached with the same philosophy. Rather than relying on trends, we focused on timeless materials, thoughtful details, and a cohesive palette that allows each room to feel connected to the next.

One of my favorite things about this home is that it doesn't demand attention. Instead, it invites you to slow down. The design quietly supports the experience of living there, allowing the view, the natural light, and the surrounding landscape to take center stage.
The Lakeview Retreat is a reminder that great design isn't about filling a home with beautiful things. It's about creating spaces that feel effortless, personal, and deeply connected—to the people who live there and, in this case, to the lake just beyond the windows.
